Two charged with drug trafficking-related offences

Two people have been charged with drug trafficking-related offences following residential and vehicle searches in Amherst, Cumberland County.

On January 14, the Cumberland County Street Crimes Enforcement Unit searched a car and a home in Amherst and seized methamphetamine, crystal methamphetamine, cocaine, crack cocaine and various prescription pills.

Samantha Ann Landry, 32, of Warren, was arrested without incident and has been charged with four counts of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and Breach of a Court Order. Landry was remanded into custody and is schedule to appear on January 18 at 9:30 a.m.

Ricky Lane Baker, 52, of Amherst, was arrested without incident and has been charged with three counts of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking. He is scheduled to appear in Amherst Provincial Court on April 12 at 9:30 a.m.

The Cumberland County Street Crimes Enforcement Unit is a joint investigational unit comprised of members of the Amherst Police Department and Cumberland County RCMP.

The investigation is ongoing.
