RCMP investigate shooting in Eskasoni

Eskasoni RCMP are investigating a shooting in Eskasoni that left one man injured.

On February 28 at approximately 10:25 p.m., the RCMP responded to a call of a shooting at a home in Eskasoni. One man located inside the home was shot through the window. He was injured and transported to hospital.

At approximately 12:30 a.m., the RCMP responded to a second report of shots fired in the community. These were investigated but were determined to not be substantiated.

Police have a heavy presence in the community as they continue the investigation.

Residents are asked to remain in their homes with doors locked and report any suspicious activity to police.

Please do not share information or photos of police operations as it could jeopardize officer safety.
