RCMP investigate death on a ski hill

Yesterday at 4:36 p.m., Cumberland District RCMP responded to a report of a missing man last seen skiing earlier in the day on the ski hill in Wentworth.

While police were en-route, the man was located off trail by Ski Patrol representatives of the recreational facility. The man was brought to a first aid tent and seen to by EHS, he was not able to be revived. The 43-year-old Halifax man was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The preliminary investigation indicates the death not to be suspicious and is ongoing including assistance from the Nova Scotia Medical Examiner's Service.

Our thoughts are with the family of the victim at this difficult time.
