Update - Powerview RCMP look for suspect with firearm

Powerview RCMP would like to thank the public and the media for their assistance. Within a short period of time, numerous tips were received that led to the arrest of 29-year-ol Dylan Atkinson who was located in Powerview. He remains in police custody.

These tips also led officers back to the residence where the firearm was located and seized.

Powerview RCMP continue to investigate.


On March 3, 2021, at approximately 8:10 pm, Powerview RCMP, along with the RCMP Emergency Response Team and Police Dog Services, attended a residence in Powerview, Manitoba to locate Dylan Lennon Atkinson, 29, from Winnipeg. Investigation has led officers to believe Atkinson is in possession of a submachine gun. When officers arrived at the residence, Atkinson was no longer there.

Atkinson is currently wanted on a warrant for Uttering Threats and a Canada-wide warrant for violating parole, which he is on for the following charges: Break, Enter and Commit Robbery; Possession of a Loaded, Prohibited or Restricted Firearm; Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order; Aggravated Assault; Assault with a Weapon
