North Bedeque man receives 30 months in custody for cocaine and methamphetamine trafficking

On Thursday, February 4th, 2021, John Hambly of North Bedeque received two and a half years in custody for several convictions under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. Mr. Hambly was convicted for two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine, possession for the purpose of trafficking methamphetamine, possession of oxycodone, possession of cannabis for the purpose of selling, possession of unstamped tobacco, and resist arrest. Mr. Hambly was also ordered to provide a sample for the DNA data bank, ordered to forfeit cash that was seized, and was placed on a lifetime weapons prohibition.

These convictions stem from two search warrants that were executed at Mr. Hambly's residence in North Bedeque by the Prince District JFO Drug Unit in May and September of 2020. During the execution of these warrants police seized over 100 grams of cocaine, 670 grams of cannabis, 51 methamphetamine pills, and $3975.00 in cash.

The Prince District JFO Drug Unit is comprised of members of the RCMP, Summerside Police Services, and Kensington Police Services.
