Iqaluit RCMP investigates theft of truck involved in collision

Iqaluit RCMP are investigating the theft of a truck involved in a collision. At approximately 5:50 p.m. on January 28th, 2021, Iqaluit RCMP responded to a report of a motor vehicle collision near 902 Nunavut Drive. A black Ford F350 pick-up truck had collided with a Nissan pick-up truck before crashing into a power pole.

Throughout the investigation, the RCMP learned the F350 had been stolen from a nearby apartment building prior to the collision. The driver of the F350 fled the scene on foot prior to police arrival. The suspect is described as an Inuit man in his early twenties, wearing a black jacket with a rounded logo on the back and red trim around the collar.

Iqaluit RCMP are seeking information related to this investigation or anyone who may have seen the suspect fleeing the area.
