Charges have been laid relation to an incident of an adult male being shot in Ile a la Crosse, SK, on January 19, 2021.

On January 20, 2021, Ile a la Crosse RCMP, with assistance from Beauval RCMP Detachment, located the adult male believed to be responsible for shooting the male victim at a residence in Ile a la Crosse. The adult male exited the residence and surrendered himself to police. He was arrested without incident and taken into police custody.

30-year-old Jesse Durocher from Ile a la Crosse, SK, has been charged with Aggravated Assault, Discharge of a Firearm with Intent, and Possession of a weapon contrary to a Prohibition Order. He was taken into custody and appeared in court in La Loche, SK, via telephone from Buffalo Narrows on Friday, January 22, 2021.

Ile a la Crosse RCMP investigate incident of adult male shot in Ile a la Crosse, SK

On January 19, 2021, at approximately 8 p.m., Ile a la Crosse RCMP attended a local hospital after receiving the report of an adult male who sustained injury from a gunshot wound to the leg.

Preliminary investigation by police determined the 36-year-old victim drove himself to the hospital after being shot while outside a residence in Ile a la Crosse, SK. The victim is receiving medical treatment for non-life threatening injuries.

Ile a la Crosse RCMP is investigating the circumstances leading to the victim being shot.
