Grand Falls Windsor RCMP responds to single-vehicle crash and arrests man for impaired driving

Grand Falls-Windsor RCMP responded to a single-vehicle crash on the Trans-Canada Highway (TCH) this morning and arrested a 27-year-old Bishops Falls man for impaired driving.

At approximately 3:30 a.m., police received a report of a car upside down in a ditch on the TCH east of the weigh scales. Police attended the scene and located the driver, who showed signs of alcohol impairment. He was arrested for impaired driving, transported to the detachment and provided breath samples that were more than twice the legal limit.

The man was released from custody this morning and is set to attend court on March 31, 2021, to answer to impaired driving charges. His driver's licence was suspended and the car was seized and impounded.
