Grand Falls-Windsor RCMP investigates two motor vehicle crashes, impaired driving suspected

Grand Falls-Windsor RCMP is investigating two separate motor vehicle crashes that happened on April 2, 2021. Impaired driving is suspected in both incidents.

At approximately 1:20 a.m., on Friday, police received a report of a single-vehicle crash on the Botwood Highway near Jiggs' Farm. Officers attended the scene and the driver, a 46-year-old woman, showed signs of alcohol impairment. She was transported via ambulance for medical treatment of her injuries.

A few hours later, at approximately 6:40 a.m., police received a report of a single-vehicle crash on Route 370 (Buchan's Highway) about 20 kilometers south of the Trans-Canada Highway. Officers attended the scene and the driver, a 31-year-old man, showed signs of alcohol impairment. He was transported via ambulance for medical treatment of his injuries.

Impaired driving investigations are continuing at this time.
