Clam Point man charged with various drug offences

Members of the Barrington RCMP, with assistance of the Shelburne Street Crime Enforcement Unit (SECU), have executed a warrant on a residence in Clam Point, resulting in the seizure of drugs, cash and a weapon.

On February 14 at approximately 4:00 p.m., Barrington RCMP responded to a call of a Break and Enter at a home on Stoney Island Rd. in Clam Point. It was reported that a suspect vehicle, a black truck, was seen leaving the home. There was no description of the suspect(s) in the break and enter. No one was physically injured during the incident.

While members were investigating, they noticed a significant quantity of cannabis growing in the basement of the home.

On February 17, a warrant was executed at the residence. Police seized cocaine, psilocybin, a Conducted Energy Weapon (CEW), 59 marihuana plants, processed cannabis, shatter, other cannabis products, drug paraphernalia and cash.

Troy Duncan Waybret, 29, of Clam Point, was arrested without incident. He was charged with:

- Possession of Cocaine

- Possession of a Psilocybin

- Possession of a Prohibited Weapon

- Distribution of Illicit Cannabis

- Possession of Illicit Cannabis

- Possession of Illicit Cannabis for the Purpose of Distribution

- Possession of More than Four Cannabis Plants

- Cultivating, Propagating or Harvesting more than Four Cannabis Plants

- Altering the Properties of Cannabis by Use of Organic Solvent

- Three counts of Failure to Comply with Probation Order

Waybret was released from custody and will appear in Shelburne Provincial Court on April 21 at 9:30 a.m.
