Toys for the North is an RCMP O Division (Ontario) led initiative in partnership with the Canadian Toy Association (CTA) and Thomson Terminals Limited with air transportation support from the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF). The campaign celebrated its tenth anniversary this year and delivered a record breaking amount of toys to children in some of Canada's most remote regions.
$265,000 worth of toys were distributed to over 30 communities in the areas surrounding Thunder Bay (Ontario), Happy Valley-Goose Bay (Newfoundland and Labrador), Iqaluit (Nunavut) and Yellowknife (Northwest Territories).
The RCMP would like to thank each and every one of the toy manufacturers who donated toys and Mastermind Toys for providing all of the gift wrap.
"From collecting toys, sorting, wrapping, arranging transportation, identifying communities and finally delivery into the hands of a child, RCMP volunteers are there every step of the way working with all of our partners and local volunteers to make this campaign a success," Toys for the North coordinator, Cpl. Rob Buller commented. "I am always so grateful and impressed with the good will and efforts of everyone involved. It's truly an amazing initiative to be part of."

- Thanks to Child and Family Services, the recreation commission of Pond Inlet, Canadian North, DND Iqaluit Detachment, Iqaluit Air Services and local schools in Kinngait, Kugluktuk and Pond Inlet for all of your help in Nunavut;

Like everything else in our world, this year's campaign was made even more challenging with Covid-19 but through the tremendous efforts of our partners and volunteers we were able to once again deliver toys and smiles to kids in the most northern reaches of our country.
