Yellowknife RCMP investigate forcible confinement and sexual assault

Yellowknife RCMP are investigating a report of alleged forcible confinement and sexual assault.

Yellowknife RCMP received a complaint of forcible confinement and sexual assault on Sunday, June 18. The date and area of the incident is not being released to protect the victim.

Yellowknife RCMP have charged Peter Tsetta, 48 years old of Yellowknife, with Sexual Assault and Forcible Confinement.

"While there is no immediate threat to the public, these are serious allegations and we want the public to be aware of the incident" states Marie York-Condon, Northwest Territories RCMP Media Relations.

Tsetta has appeared before the court and remains in custody.
