Search warrants in Eskasoni lead to drug charges

On June 15, members with RCMP Eskasoni and the Sydney Drug Section conducted search warrants at two residences in Eskasoni that led to two individuals being charged. Marihuana, prescription opioid pills and over $1,200 in cash was seized.

RCMP has charged 28-year-old Curtis Poulette of Eskasoni with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Prescription Pills, Possession of Marihuana and Failing to Comply with an Undertaking. Poulette was remanded into custody and was scheduled to appear in court on June 19 for a bail hearing.

A second individual, a 41-year-old Eskasoni woman, was charged for Possession of Prescription Pills and Obstruction. She was released on conditions and is scheduled appear in court on August 1.
