Kings District RCMP remove two drivers from road

During the evening of June 21st, 2017, a Kings District RCMP officer stopped a vehicle under the Highway Traffic Act in Mount Albion and learned that the driver had a suspended licence. As a result of the stop a 22 year-old male driver was issued a $275 ticket and his vehicle was towed and will be impounded for 30 days for having prior suspension convictions.

At 2:40 a.m. on June 22nd, a Kings District RCMP officer checked a vehicle in Souris and detected that the 19 year-old male driver of Souris had consumed alcohol. As a result, the driver provided a sample of his breath roadside which resulted in him being over the legal limit. Subsequently, the driver was arrested for impaired driving related charges and was transported to the Souris RCMP Detachment where he provided samples of his breath above the legal limit, and his vehicle was towed. The driver was released from custody and will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.
