Human remains identified as missing man

Human remains discovered in the Saint John River have been positively identified as a missing 42-year-old man from Morrell Siding.

On August 2, a body was discovered near the shore, close to Tobique Narrows. An autopsy and further investigation has positively identified the remains as those of Tony Vaillancourt, who has not been in contact with friends or family since April 9, 2017.

Police are still working to determine the exact cause of death.
