Crime Stoppers Crime of the Week - Damaged Overpass

Crime Stoppers and the South East District RCMP, Sussex Detachment, are seeking the public's assistance in locating the driver of a vehicle who is responsible for extensive damage done to an overpass near Sussex in the spring of 2016.

Police believe a piece of heavy equipment may have collided with the overpass causing approximately $400,000 worth of damage. The overpass is located on Cherryvale Road in Canaan Forks. This area is used mostly by logging trucks and excavation equipment.

The damage was reported to police on May 10, 2016, shortly after 8:15 a.m., however, the collision is believed to have occurred around the end of April. Repairs have since begun to the bridge.
