Digby RCMP charges man for drug-impaired driving

At approximately 1 p.m. on February 2, a member of Digby RCMP stopped a vehicle on Warwick St. for a traffic infraction. An RCMP Drug Recognition Expert was called to the scene. The driver was arrested for drug-impaired driving and the police seized quantities of cocaine, marihuana, and prescription pills as well. Four knives and a baseball bat were also seized from the vehicle.

Thirty-four-year-old Nicholas Robinson of Conway, Digby Co. has been charged with:

  • Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking
  • Possession of Marihuana
  • Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle by Drugs
  • Driving While Disqualified (2 counts)
  • Possession of Property over $5000 Obtained by Crime
  • Possession of a Weapon of a Dangerous Purpose (5 counts)

Robinson was held in police custody overnight and brought to court the following morning. He has been remanded and is scheduled to appear on February 13 in Digby Provincial Court.
